We’re proud of our roots.
This is our humble story.

In 1949 E.V. Findley started E.V. Findley & Sons Construction Company. Headquartered in the small mid-western town of Burrton, KS, the company built water, gas and sewer pipeline systems for surrounding towns and municipalities. In 1968 the first pipeline safety regulations were drafted and the Office of Pipeline Safety was established to oversee and implement these statutes. To meet these new regulations E.V. Findley & Sons expanded its services such as offering pipeline coating, leak detection, and atmospheric & cathodic protection services in addition to providing assistance in the development of policies such as operations and maintenance manuals. E.V. Findley brought in his daughter, Earlene Findley, to help with policy development in addition to accounting and general bookkeeping. Earlene married a local boy named Robert Neuway and they had a daughter named Vergi and a son named Michael. Through the years both Robert and Earlene worked for E.V. Findley until the late 1980s when Congress began working on what would become the Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act and create the Department of Transportation regulations for drug and alcohol testing.

During this time, Vergi began working for a local oil and gas operator while Michael had joined the Navy. Vergi was working on this new Omnibus Employee Testing Act and its impact on contractors wishing to work in the oil and gas industry. Many contractors and operators were needing experience and assistance with writing policies and creating programs. It was then that Earlene and Vergi saw a potential need and started Pipeline Testing Consortium in 1990. Vergi, Earlene and Robert started out as the employees with Michael joining after his service during the 1st Iraq War.

Meeting industry and client needs has been a part of our DNA. Which is why over the years Pipeline Testing Consortium has expanded to include other business such as contractor monitoring services under National Compliance Management Services, bringing a Medical Review Officer in-house under American Medical Review Officers and, most recently, providing background check services under PTC Assist.

Today, Pipeline Testing Consortium is the industry’s premier provider of drug and alcohol testing programs to more than 2,000 companies throughout the United States. We have a few more employees than the four we started with, but that has not changed who we are or what we do. We are still a family-owned company and we see our clients as part of that family. We are honored to provide the professional and friendly expertise they need to succeed.
