NON-DOT BREATH ALCOHOL
KITS:
|
|
 |
Employees who do not perform either pipeline or trucking
duties OR an employee who does perform pipeline/trucking
duties but is also required to meet additional requirements
by a specific customer. Your company must have a company
(NON-DOT) policy that gives you the authority to test your
employees. |
|
CLIENT REQUIRED:
|
|
 |
Several of your clients/customers (i.e., oil/gas operators,
oil/gas drilling & production, terminals, refineries, etc)
have alcohol and drug testing requirements that exceed the
DOT regulations. These clients require pre-access and/or
annual testing. In some cases, your employees are required
to take both an annual alcohol and an annual drug test.
If your company is also required to have a DOT program for
oil/gas operators that have DOT pipeline facilities, you
must not use Federal DOT authority to conduct testing that
exceeds the DOT requirements. Therefore, you should not use
your DOT alcohol and drug testing kits for client
requirements that exceed the DOT regulations (i.e.
pre-access or annual tests).
If you hire a new employee and they need to be in the DOT
random pool but they also need to meet the requirements by a
client that exceeds the DOT regulations, then it is best for
a new employee to take a DOT pre-employment test (use the
DOT kit) and take a NON-DOT pre-employment alcohol test (if
annual alcohol testing is required by your client).
Just remember that if you have an employee selected for a
DOT test (random, etc) they must use the DOT kit. Using this
“Client-Required” kit will not meet the DOT regulations.
This NON-DOT “Client-Required” alcohol and drug testing kit
was put together by Pipeline Testing Consortium, Inc. to
help you meet client requirements, including if your company
works for multiple clients that require annual testing
(i.e., ConocoPhillips, EnCana, Enterprise Products (EPCO),
ExxonMobil, etc).
Please make sure that your company is fully aware of what
each of your clients require. These requirements are always
outlined in the contracts that you sign with each client.
Examples are; ExxonMobil requires both an annual alcohol &
drug test, ConocoPhillips, EnCana & Enterprise (EPCO)
requires annual drug testing only. However, these
requirements are subject to change so again, please make
sure that you know what your clients require. You should
also have a policy in place to cover these client
requirements. For policy assistance, please contact your PTC
Account Representative.
These kits include the drug testing supplies as well as a
breath alcohol testing form. If you work for a client that
does not require annual alcohol testing, then please remove
the alcohol form before your employee reports to the
collection site.
For questions about how to use these kits, please feel free
to contact your PTC Account Representative at any time or
before you take these kits to the collection site.

|
NOTE: |
| It
is important that you order the correct testing kits. If
you order and use the wrong testing kits, your employees
may be required to test again which will result in
additional testing costs being charged to your company. |
| REMEMBER: |
| Check
your supplies often. There is no charge for ordering the
kits. You are only charged when a testing kit is used. SO
STAY STOCKED UP!! |
